Several elderly family members and friends have received letters from the DWP advising them that they are due winter fuel payments of £600. Two of this people will not see next spring. Will the DWP reclaim the money or a percentage of it from their estates?
I would be surprised if they did. The DWP has too many layers of bureaucracy but they obviously have the right to ask for money back if it is erroneously paid out.
