PIP Claim should I list attachments? was created by MuttonJeff
I'm claiming PIP via online system, I have multiple different health issues and lots of documents as evidence which i hope I will be able to upload. Is it a good idea to list relevant documents in the information about your condition box in the hope they will actually read them? Or is there somewhere further along in the process where I'll be asked to list them, or would you just attache them all and hope they will refer to the right evidence for each condition? Sorry it sounds an odd question, it's taken me weeks already and I'm struggling to get it all together, revisiting mental health reports and writing about them is making me feel worse. I've recently diagnosed with ADHD (aged nearly 60!!) and this is one of my main issues and procrastination, concentration etc increasing my anxiety. I have just over a week to get it all finished and sent off.

Hi MuttonJeff

Never assume that the DWP will do anything - don't just attach them without referring to them. I haven't used the online system, so I can't tell you exactly where to put them, but list them wherever seems appropriate. Well done for sticking with it. You'll get there.

Thank you, I've now seen that the give details of your condition only allows 5000 characters, that's not much room for a 60 year history of anxiety!

Hi MuttonJeff, a cynic would say this is what the online system is designed to do, make their job easier at the expense of claimants' ability to make their case fully.
As per replies to your other thread, I'd switch to paper if they will let you. If not kick up a fuss that they are practising disability discrimination which is illegal, as you are having difficulty with accessing the online system properly.
Do let us know what you do and what reaction you get.
Hmm.

Unfortunately I have thumb arthritis so handwriting so much on paper would be impossible, so I need online version to type it. Thanks for your reply

When I applied for PIP, I wrote down all the details I wanted to provide. I took my evidence and marked it as Appendix 1, 2, etc. I then went through the text and at the appropriate points said see Appendix 10. If it was a long piece or several pages I referred to the page number or in some cases the line number and highlighted the relevant part. The best thing to do is pretend you are talking to a bone-idle idiot who needs leading by the hand and then they have no excuse for not reading all the evidence.
