LCWRA and work coaches was created by DJMH15
Hi

1. With ESA SG there is no contact with the job centre. With the equivalent on LCWRA is there a requirement to have a work coach and meet up with them/fill in a journal?

2. I read that an appointee can be made? What if a person has noone to do it? Would a Support Worker or CPN be able to take that role?

3. Will they hound us and put sanctions on us, even when not being able to have face to face interaction or meet appointment dates is part of the condition?

Thanks

Hi DJMH15

1) the answer to question one is yes, all claimants on UC have a workcoach and a journal, the journal is a way of communicating between a workcoach and a claimant, some claimants get contacted by their workcoach via the telephone.

2) You are correct, an appointee can be made, if there is no one then social service may be involved if the claimant does not have capacity.

3) It would depend on the claimant commitment and which conditionality your workcoach agrees to at the first meeting, if you fail to agree to a claimant commitment then your claim will be closed.

There are 4 conditionality groups:

* Group 1. No work related requirements ~ usually claimants placed in the support group/LCWRA
* Group 2. Work-focused interview requirement
* Group 3. Work preparation requirement
* Group 4. All work-related requirements

Hi and thankyou

This seems like it would be like another assessment. I think i would really struggle with this. Not knowing when I would be called in. This would make me ill before and after.

Being dependent on the opinion of someone who is not a medical professional, who may have quotas to meet, or just not like me. Is this why people are so stressed about it?

Hi DJMH15

I think that many claimants find it stressful to deal with work coaches and appearing to be judged. Unfortunately it is part of the system.
