PIP Review Paperwork Arrived was created by Sarah Spoor
Hi,

New member here.

Joy of joys, PIP Review Paperwork arrived yesterday & they want it returned by 10th of December.

Whilst it appears to ask only if something has changed & give very small boxes to make any comments, I am assuming if I just go through & write no change in each box , then this in itself will raise a query at their end ?

I prefer to put in degree level applications , & therefore not go to either assessment or tribunal.

Please advise on what level of info I should give & volume of supporting letters .

Unfortunately I didn't complete myself last time (complex care team at GP did) so I don't have the version that was sent in or how DWP got to the original outcome.

If I wish to request that from DWP - what do I need to ask for ?

Thank you

Hi SIS

Welcome to the forum. If you need information on where things are you can find out here : benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/general

I would suggest you look at the Guide to PIP claims and reviews. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip You will find information from page 128. We don't advise that people put no change without explanation. I can't tell you how much to write, but when helping a claimant, I always assume that the health professional has no knowledge of the claimant or the condition/s or how it affects the claimant's daily living and mobility(even when it's a review). Clearly, you would write less than the original form for a review, but I don't assume they have prior knowledge. The caveat to that is don't give information that doesn't distinctly relate to the PIP criteria. Sometimes claimants find themselves in difficulties by giving too much information, which is jumped on, when it wasn't relevant.

In order to get your past paperwork, you will have to put in a subject access request. You can do this first over the phone, and then you will have to put it in writing. You can ask for your prior form and if you had an assessment - a copy of the assessor's report. This is a PA4 (if it was a telephone, face-to-face or video assessment) and a PA3 (if it was a paper-based assessment.
