www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum To answer your question, if you are in receipt of the daily living component of PIP and no one claims Carers Allowance for you then if you are eligible for Guarantee Pension Credit (GPC) you would be eligible for an extra premium called a severe disability premium (SDP) (£69.40 pw) if your partner is also in receipt of a qualifying benefit then you may be eligible to 2 x SDP = £138.80 pw
Many elderly claimants do not claim GPC, I do come across them quite frequently and it is an easy win, I saw two claimants last week who had missed out, one of them had missed out for the last 3 years.
