ESA Review form was created by Wilson28
I am looking for some guidance and advice please.

While trying to work my way through my PIP review form last week I also received my ESA review form to complete. This has massively added to the anxiety that filling in these forms causes. I am surrounded by mountains of paperwork.

I have been on Contribution based ESA and in the support group. I was last reviewed in January 2020. If you are in the support group is it normal to get reviews suddenly after no correspondence in 3 years?

I am enclosing information about my conditions which are rare from websites. Am I providing too much information., should I be leaving it up to DWP to do their own research.?

Should I mention my ESA review on my PIP form and vice versa or will they already know that both are undergoing review?

Hi Wilson28

ESA is generally reviewed after 1, 2 or 3 years. You are just unlucky; yes, they send them out at any time. I'm sorry you have to do PIP and ESA simultaneously - and this is also something that happens to many unlucky claimants.

You ask if you should leave the DWP to do their own research. Absolutely not! It is unlikely they will do it; if they do, you have no idea where they might get their information. Provide the information from reputable sources and highlight how you are affected against the specific ESA criteria.

They won't know you are being reviewed for both. It's up to you whether you say anything. At the end of the day - although there are some overlaps, the two benefits are looking at different things.
