PIP and Work was created by esther.reil
Hi,

I was awarded standard PIP in both categories two years ago. Since then, my condition (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, also ASD and Depression) has progressed and I was assessed as needing an electric wheelchair. I asked for a review and am currently completing the paperwork. I can still work, but only because my employer has put a range of adjustments in place. Is it better to explain I still work, but only because of x adjustments? And under specific descriptors mention: If I were to stop work, I would have the energy to shower more frequently, but work also gives me a reason to get up and sense of accomplishment. Without I would be isolated with nothing to fo and my depression would increase, making me not want to shower,
Or is it better to not mention work at all?

Hi esther.reil

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

PIP is about how your condition affects you, it is not about work, that comes under Work Capability Assessment.

You need to answer each question as to how your condition affects you, and what your limitations are. check out our guides; benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

If you need to raise that you work then include what adaptions your employers have put in place and why.

I would not mention the last paragraph: If I were to stop work ...... I put that under the heading waffle
