I don’t feel like I’ve been given a proper answer here. I’m sorry if I’m coming across stupid.

So for example:
I am LCWRA support group for depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, non epileptic seizures etc (I know it’s not based on a diagnosis but okay)

So I now have ADHD and suspected autism. Do I need to make the DWP aware of this new diagnosis for the support group? Or do I await until a review.

ESA told me my award has been extended until December 2024 for some reason. I was due to have a review December 2022.

So what do I do?

Hi AnxiousAnonymous

You are already in the support group, so the new diagnosis of ADHD and possible autism is not going to make any difference to your claim and what you receive. Although the DWP always tell people to inform them of a change in their condition, they are largely interested in where people have got better. If the conditions that you mentioned in your previous post have suddenly changed, you would need to inform them. But as this is not likely to be the case, you can write to the DWP now and tell them about the new diagnosis, or you can wait until your next review and tell them when you might also have confirmation of autism.

Is it part of my duty to tell them about any new conditions or not?

I spoke to the Disability Employment Advisor and she said it’s not something I would need to do e.g. report a new condition. I can document what we spoke about on the call for future reference.

However, do I HAVE TO, or NEED to, make them aware of this new condition, or any other conditions I develop such as testicular microlithiasis (not just ADHD) but my argument is my doctor isn’t issuing me fit notes for ADHD or testicular problem. So why would I need to inform the DWP, it makes zero sense tbh.

I find the whole process confusing. If I told them about every new condition, I could be there all day.

Hi AnxiousAnonymous

As BIS has stated, you are already in the support group so it will make no difference to your claim if you report a new condition or not.

What it will do is give you extra stress, especially if you are sent a new review form and then loose your existing claim.

If you have a new condition(s) save up all the supporting documents for your next review form then add them, you will not be penalised for not mentioning your condition has worsen.
