Hello ppl

If you are new claim person and have lcwra and pip why do some new claim also apply for esa? Is this right? Or why new claim apply for lcwra but not esa?

Hi Findfixflogit

I am not sure what you are trying to ask.

LCWRA is paid to Universal Credit claimants.

The only ESA you can now claim is New Style ESA which is a contribution based benefits.

Hi Findfixflogit

Some claimants claim NS ESA as it is independant from their partners income, it is not means tested, if they are placed in the support group then their claim is indefinite (until they are next re-assessed.

In answer to your question "why do some claim this new style esa if you claim lcwra?" I have no idea without know the background of the claim.
