PIP review form extension was created by Fuzzy
Today 21/12/22 I received the PIP review form. Lovely timing just before Christmas but nothing surprises me anymore with DWP. It was dated 10th December so has taken a while to get to me, probably the mail strikes. They want it back by 10/1/23 but with all the Christmas bank holidays in between and mail backlog I don’t think I’ll be able to get it back to them by that date. If I contacted them do they offer extensions? If so how long extra do they normally give you?
Also do you recommend filling in the form as if it were the original claim form or do you just write about any changes to your health/needs/aids since your claim?
Like many on this forum I’m finding it all really stressful

Ring the DWP as soon as you can. They will give you an extension, probably another two weeks. If you find that you are still struggling to complete the form in January, ring a second time and ask for another extension. This is likely to be granted, but don't leave it until the very last minute.
People have different approaches to filling out a review form. Some fill it in as if it is the first time, and some people follow on from the last time they filled in a form and some people choose to put 'no change' (which we don't recommend). The assessor will have access to your previous records. Do have a look at our guide to PIP claims and reviews - you will find the information from page 128.
