Apply for PIP online was created by mrs doyle
Sorry,I know I posted a similar question recently, but Im getting nowhere fast ! I phoned the PIP enquiry line and after 80 minutes on hold I got to speak to a person. My question was;"If I apply for PIP online,is the form identical to the paper form that is sent out ? Their reply was "Ehhhh,I think so,I dont have a copy I can look at,but errr Im sure it will be the same".Searching around the net I have found a few people who have applied online and they say the questions are worded differently and biased towards not giving you the points that you would expect to get on the paper form.Has anyone applied online and what did they find with the descriptor questions ? many thanks.

Hi Mrs Doyle

I hope someone who has applied online will be able to tell you about their experience. I have not heard that the questions are different.

Hello Mrs Doyle,

I initially filled out a draft version of the PIP2 form which I downloaded as a pdf. When I went to fill out the online application I found there were differences.

I don't recall significant differences in the descriptor questions although in the online application I feel the questions were more generic.

The main difference was the section on healthy history. The PIP2 paper form ( section 2) had a short section for a health summary. The online application allows you to provide a detailed description of each health issue and how it affects you. This is both helpful and potentially a lot of extra work. Filling out the health summary on the paper form was quick however I spent a long time detailing all my health issues with the online application.

My interview is next week, so hopefully I will find out soon if it was worth the extra work.

Best Regards, John
