That's what the volunteer sent me from the cab but I'm still none the wiser with that last bit my father and myself have no mortgage he is claiming pension credit if that helps

Just an update from another volunteer from cab she is now saying the cpag book is not the law somebody should know the answer to this query there's probably a lot of people out there in the same position as me this is crazy
I can't go out to see anybody I'm house bound trying to look after my father who has dementia I'm struggling

Hi lochpike
As per my previous post, the point to take into account is; If a co-owner or joint tenant is a close relative of you (or your partner), they will count as a non-dependant (and so exclude you from the SDP)
From the information in your original post you stated you were a co-owner with your father (a close relative) you will therefore be excluded from the SDP.

As a thought you could ask your MP, if they do not know then then will be able to ask the Secretary of State for Works and Pension.

Sorry think your wrong there Gary I will get back with what I eventually find out because it states if you are a Co owner before a certain date and they are a close relative then they are classed as not non dependants I will find out soon it states that at the bottom of your post

That's what a cab lady said we are jointly putting a letter together to send to the dwp we will soon find out I ain't sure even if the dwp staff would know the answer lol
