Please can state pension be deferred so as to continue with ESA please was created by Tracy Fairchild
Hello, I would be most grateful for any help given. My husband is due to retire in May. What I need to know is, as my husband is currently on ESA, would he be able to defer his state pension, and continue receiving ESA instead?

I thank you for any help given.

Hi Tracy

Short answer is yes he can defer his state pension but his ESA will stop when he reaches state pension age.
