NEW PIP CLAIM....help... was created by Jamer2k41
Hi there,

i am really worried about applying for pip and asking for more support. I already get UC and ESA and my depression and anxiety really do take a lot of managing day to day.

I applied for pip back in 2020 and scored 4 points. I do feel i am eligible for pip but i am scared to apply again and i dont really know how i should go about applying so that i am honestly asking for more support in a way that will be assessed fairly and accurately?

i am scared i will be judged and rejected again which is what alot of my anxiety issues and depression centre around from my difficult childhood.

Is there any way of getting one to one specialist support for this process?

hope to hear from you

cheers

James

Hi Jamer2K41

You can see if you can find a welfare advisor to help from a service in your local area advicelocal.uk/ I can't pretend it is easy to find one, because there are so many people who need help and many services are stretched to breaking point.

If you can't find a local service to help - do you have a family member or friend who can help you? Our guide to claiming PIP is large but very comprehensive, and some members have found, if they go through one question at a time they do manage to complete their forms. It can be daunting, but the guide gives examples of the types of things you should answer. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

It is tough when you are anxious about the whole process. Will you be judged? Yes - I'm afraid that's part of the process, and you can't stop it.

We all hope it will be a fair and accurate process, but sadly it isn't always. However, some people do successfully apply and get the benefits they deserve, so I hope that you will find some support where you can and give it another go.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
