Hi. When filling out a PIP Form for someone else, is best to write it in the third person, or as if the claimant was writing it. I know the recommendation for writing cv's is to write it in the third person, as it has more impact. Does the same apply to PIP?

Hi Horty,
When I fill outca claim form for a client I write in 1st person ie using 'I can't do X etc' I then put a note at the end saying form was written with the help of an adviser etc.
Either 1st or 3rd person is OK as long as it is clear who is writing the form.
If the claimant is very infirm then I suggest you write as 3rd person so you would say 'Mrs Smith can not do...'
Keep to one or other style.
Just be mindful that you should not give the impression that the claimant has filled out the form, and has had no help.
You can explain on a separate page or the notes page who you are and how you know about claimant's disabilities. Label all pages clearly with claimant's name and NI number.

I hope this helps.
