Pip stopped after review? No money no letter? was created by Greendeco13
I had a PIP review call on 13 jan 2023, the call was horrendous and lasted 2.5 hours. I was very distressed through some of it and my husband had to ask for a break.
Today I have only received a partial payment not my full PIP so I’m guessing it’s been stopped.
Unbelievable. I have fibromyalgia and in constant pain. I had a heart stent put in last year and I’m currently being investigated for a tumour in my lung.
I felt the assessor kept going until she could make me contradict myself. It was awful and I was ill for days afterwards.
There is no way they have got info from my GP in this time scale because they’re rubbish.
I will appeal but it is vile how ppl are being treated.
I feel like such a burden to my family and told the assessor I have suicidal thoughts
She seemed not to be able to understand that some days I can do things but I have days when I’m bedridden.

Hi Greendeco13
Sorry to hear you had an upsetting assessment.
You need to contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a PA4.
When you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and you will now be able to argue against them.
I usually use a highlighter to highlight any inaccuracies, once you have gone through the report you then set out why you are applying for a MR and go through each descriptor one at a time why you disagree with the assessor and try and match it with any supporting documents you may have sent in.
Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say 'in my opinion' you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said., remember they are just an opinion which is not based on fact.
Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.
Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.
The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide; benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
For the CRMR1 form to initiate your MR; www.gov.uk/government/publications/chall...ork-and-pensions-dwp
When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.

I didn’t ring today as had hospital appointment and was told I am being tested for lung cancer starting with a Pet scan tomorrow.
I think maybe my PIP has been stopped not because of the review as that seems very quick, the dwp only received the report on 25 Jan and texted me it could take up to 8 weeks for a decision.
I think it’s because the date of the call was changed twice.
I couldn’t make the first date, so I rang and rebooked, however, they had tech issues so eventually they rang and said we’ll have to reschedule. The lady rebooked me and did point out as the second rebooking was down to them it wouldn’t count. But if the system didn’t update to show this it looks like I missed the call.
Maybe I’m clutching at straws but a decision in a week of dwp receiving my report seems quick and I would have received more money.
I will ring tomorrow after my scan if I’m up to it, but my anxiety is off the scale at the moment so we’ll see.
Thank you for advice, if it is because of review then I will follow your advice and appeal.
