Hello all , just read a post - so im wondering if you wanted to up for better word - your award - say from esa wragg to support group or apply for mobility when only previously been awarded low daily care ( only one point away from enhanched ) how do you go about it please as read someone asked for a review and thats not under change of circumstances which im not understanding , thanks x

The language used for benefits can be confusing.
Change of circumstances: This applies to ESA/UC or PIP. If a claimant's medical condition has deteriorated, and they hope their award will be upgraded, they will write to the DWP and report a change of circumstances. When the DWP receive the request, they will send out a review form which has to be completed, and an assessment (telephone, face-to-face or paper-based) will be carried out and a decision made.
A Review: This applies to PIP. The DWP can review PIP awards at any time, but most claimants are sent out a review form up to 12 months before an award end date. This date is on their last decision letter.
A Review: This applies to ESA/UC. The DWP can review ESA/UC awards at any time, but unlike PIP this is an ongoing award, which is generally reviewed after one, two or three years. Because of the pandemic, some claimants have not been reviewed for much longer than three years, so many are not sure when they will next receive a review form. One should be sent out in a timely fashion.
Hope this clarifies things for you. I should add that if a claimant's condition has improved, they should also report a change of circumstances!
