Hi sir madam
I have ha 2 months uc I am 66 in may. I have been awarded, 18 months ago indefinitely. The uc officer said you have to wait for a disision to see what the group they put you in. She said you might not need an assessment. But I have received a Letter saying I am booked for a telephone medical. This as you know could affect my pip award. Is there a good way of pointing out to them, by the journal, that I am only on the uc for 12weeks after the phone medical. Are the just getting money for each medical they assess.
Many thanks

It's the DWP that has passed your name onto an Assessment Provider.

You can try contacting the DWP to have the requirement withdrawn, however, this is unlikely to happen without an escalation to a Manager and even then might not happen.

If you do not attend the assessment without notice then you will be moved back into the Job Seeking group.

You can try postponing this appointment, you can only do this once. Failing to attend this second one will see you re-grouped as above.

If you do attend and are placed in the LCWRA group, the higher of the two, then you will be entitled to a back payment of the LCWRA rate from the beginning of 14 weeks from when you first presented a Fit Note.

If you are assessed as having LCW, the lower group, then you will not receive a back payment but you will still be excused from seeking work.
