Corresponding with DWP re Time Deadlined Forms etc was created by Augustus
Good Afternoon I don’t normally comment on contents of your periodic email circulars because if everyone did that you’d have no time for anything else! But the issue of forms with a time deadline claimed not being received by DWP (even when extra is paid for tracked service) is too important to overlook. Especially in view of the replies posted re today’s report on PIP terminations for claimed non receipt of renewal forms. So can the team give their best advice here? To me, it seems that getting proof of posting, proof of envelope plus RM sticker on front, plus proof of addressee postcode delivery & signature should really suffice. If the DWP then want to say forms not received by the deafline, then should not proof of posting & delivery documents be more than enough? The idea of being expected to dig around and find out what has gone amiss seems rather strange in view of tbe premium paid for a tracked service. (Like the person who had to discover that their form was opened and then dumped in the outgoing mail bag etc……) In other words, is what some claimants are doing, such as involving MPs, not really necessary? OR is the DWP modus operandi such that showing them proofs is not enough? Can you please offer clarity on this, so that all who have this to come are ready….. Thank you A

Hi Augustus
The guides have been updated regarding the posting of forms.
You ask whether proof of postage should be enough, and yes, it should be, but sometimes people involve their MPs because the MP's intervention may have more clout with the DWP, and they are sometimes able to get a claim reinstated more quickly. Dealing with the DWP sometimes comes down to luck and who you get when you call them. That's not right, but it's reality, and when in dire need people will turn to anyone for extra help and some MPs have been great.
