After claiming DLA then PIP since 2003, (going through many MR’s on the 20 year journey,) in my recent review (which took 7 months to finalise) I was written to out of the blue to say my PIP will stay in payment with no end date. I was not asked to go for a face to face appointment, just received a letter …. I was quite shocked as you can imagine constantly renewing, reviewing and face to face appointments (and phone appointments during COVID) I suddenly (totally unexpected) got a letter to say the ‘computer says yes’. This is a relief as I don’t feel I have to fight, write reams, provide more medical evidence etc etc. It has been a stressful 20 years, having to remind the DWP what was ‘actually’ said in face to face interviews and sometimes mentioning I had recorded phone calls (for my own personal use due to a chemo foggy brain and fibromyalgia forgetfulness) that every MR was a stressful fight, play on words and exhausting. Suddenly, I feel I have had a massive weight taken off my shoulders. Jokingly, I asked myself what am I going to do with all the spare time of not fighting constantly with the DWP? I could not have kept sane and managed without this site. The information, training and support has been invaluable. Thank you x
