Should I contact DWP PIP. was created by Sammianne
I was sent my review which I sent back September last year. 2022.
Although I check once a week as recording helpfully tells you date and amount of next payment, and do this purely for reassurance I haven't in the meantime not received say an assessment appointment so may have missed it in error and payment may have stopped.
Recording says after that press option if want to speak to someone or other option to end call.
So as to my question, well questions, is it worth staying on the call and waiting to speak to someone to query how long it may take, or would that as well aware it can and does for some take far longer than time I've been waiting.

In view of people with reviews, do you know if reviews are handled by the claimants nearest area DWP PIP department or are all PIP applications/reviews etc just in a central work queue as everything is initially scanned onto the system anyway so accessable wherever office a case manager happens to be ?

So do you know if people from one area of the country are waiting less or more than a different part.

Sorry post so long. Brain injury. I do have the problem in speach and writing of going all the way through from a to z to get to b, when could far easier for same question gone straight from a to b.

Hope all that made sense.

Hi Sammianne

Some claimants contact DWP to check that they have received their review form for peace of mind, as forms do go missing. Best time to try and contact is first thing in the morning, the wait is not so long then.

The forms go to central areas depending on where you live, but if one area is over burden then another area will take on some claims. I am not an assessor or work for DWP so I have no idea how their system works, I know through speaking to the DWP that front line staff from one department will be moved to another department to help manage the flow.

From the information we get on the forum, certain areas are reviewed much faster than other, which is similar to Tribunals, Derby Tribunal used to take 54 weeks to get a case listed, whereas Northampton Tribunal only took 26 weeks. This was before Covid, now phone Tribunals will take cases from anywhere, last week I had a phone Trinunal with Lincoln Tribunal Service, which I do not have a problem with.
