ESA to UC migration if moving area was created by robin.ord14@btinternet.com
Hi,
If someone is receiving IBESA and is in the Support Group receiving the disability element and that individual moves to another area, will this trigger a move to UC if there is no material financial change, as I was under the impression that this would not happen due to there being no equivalent disability element under UC and as such the IBESA would continue.
Thanks

Hi Robin

Thank you for your question, unfortunately the answer is not straight forward.

If you require help with rent, if you move from one local authority to another local authority and you are not in supported accommodation then you will have to apply for UC to claim the Housing Element.

If you do not have to claim help with rent either private or social landlord then you can still stay on legacy benefits.
