HI Gordon and team,
Ive been using your website for a few years and it has been a absoloute life line for understanding how to fill forms out and advice from all the moderaters.you do an amazing job.
I am on Esa contribution related and in the support group & pip, no other benefits. I am 63 years old and not been able to work for a number of years due to mobiity and health conditions and severe anxiety . I have read up on your website about unversal credit,and I cant see a section for esa support group contribution based.
my next assesment for ESA is April 2030 and the letter states this is on going. I wondred if the job centre would be sending for me with all the change from esa to universal credit. and disabled people out of work .
Would I be transfered to universal credit or stay in the esa support group?
and are job centre asking people who are in the support group to go for intervews.

A reassessment will not create a need for you you to claim UC.
As to the migration of ESA claimants to UC, for the vast majority of claimants this will not happen until 2028 at the earliest.

Is DWP started ESA support group renewal again while I heard they are asking assessments for new claim only. Thanks

It can be very confusing as there are now three types of ESA, two legacy ESA and one New Style ESA
New Style ESA is a Contribution Based benefit and is not means tested with the exception of pension income which can reduce the amount that you receive.
The Income Related benefit that goes with NS ESA is Universal Credit.
Claimants in receipt of the support group will not be forced to go for job interviews, although I did read today The DWP has announced it is expanding a pilot scheme offering 'enhanced daily support' for claimants after 13 weeks and 26 weeks on universal credit, alongside a reward scheme for jobcentre staff who 'furthest exceed their aspirational targets'. you can read into that what you may.

Yes, job Centre are asking people who are in the support group to go for interviews but it is not mandatory.
From the forum we have heard of claimants in the support group receiving review forms.
