Dear Forum, I was awarded both elements of PIP by an appeal tribunal for a 5-year period which ends this June (2023). I am unclear about the procedure which follows after that. My questions are: (1) The DWP have not contacted me so far (end of Feb 23), so should I assume they will allow the award to just end, rather than reviewing it? It appears from what I have read that tribunal awards are treated differently form awards made by the DWP themselves. Will it be down to me to call the DWP and request a new claim form, starting again from scratch, rather than the DWP activating a review? (2) If that is the case, when should I contact them? I am worried I won't be able to get through on the phone line, as I've heard it is impossible and that people try for days without success. (4) Is it possible to make a claim online rather than using a paper form? Thank-you for any assistance you are able to offer
There is an inconsistent story regarding people who have been to Tribunal - some have been given review forms, and others have been told to put in a new claim. With only 4 months to go to your end date - I would contact them now. I know you are reluctant to use the phone, but people do get through. I have heard that first thing in the morning is a good time to try. You can't just put in for a new claim online because it will get confusing as your current claim is still valid.
