Review Pip Application ( 7 months wait ) was created by weymouth321
Good Morning , A lady just rang from DWP in view of my application to review my Pip award.
She sounded very pleasant and asked if this was a convenient time to go through some further questions like medications, and just going’s through my form and didn’t think I’d have to attend a physical assessment. I replied saying my folder was upstairs and tomorrow morning would be more convenient. ( Plus I was feeling exhausted, was lying down on the sofa after washing up, though , I didn’t mention this.
It’s agreed that she’ll ring back same time tomorrow morning.
I don’t have anyone like family or friends to be here with me , nor do I own an iPhone to record
My question is : Is there any further advice I should be aware of ?
With Many Thanks, J.

Hi weymouth321

I am slightly suspicious when the DWP do this. Is this a proper assessment - e.g. a telephone assessment' or is she undertaking a paper-based assessment and just wants to clarify some information? If this is a proper telephone assessment, you should have been given 7 days' notice. So I would certainly ask who she is, what her role is, and what is the purpose for her call. Few physical assessments are being carried out - so it was strange she only mentioned that type. I would certainly make sure that you have read through your papers before hand and be aware that she could throw in a curve ball and ask a question that you're not expecting.

Feeling so much better DWP phone call is over - Pip Review - ( it took 43 minutes )
The lady said she was the Decision Maker ( one whom rang yesterday morning ) when I asked what her role was.
So I decided to go ahead . She said she’d be going through my claim form and just needed answers to questions, like medication , doses and how often I took them , did I drive or walk to the shops - was it to the small shop or lager shop - I said I drive in power assisted car to the larger shop - supermarket as it’s closer being 1 mile journey there and I could easily park closer to the door. She asked about aids - I use a small shopping trolley as doubles up as a waking aid and helps me to stand up from after taking a rest break. She asked about toilet and bathroom aids. And I told her a have a further Social Care appointment - plus a orthotist ( feet ) hospital appointment this April.
We spoke about anxiety, and what medication I took for this.
She said she’d gotten everything and shall hear about 2 weeks time.
Many Thanks Again for your help and advice, J .

Hi weymouth321

I'm so glad to hear that it was the Decision-Maker and you had a good call. Let's hope you do hear in two weeks. Best of luck.

I received the reply Saturday - took 7 days after the telephone assessment . My Care Award continues as standard and in addition I’ve been Awarded Standard Mobility ( for the first time ). I’m very pleased and would like to thank you for your everlasting help and advice.
