Mobility Activities - PIP was created by AlwaysPacing
I am in receipt of PIP, last submitted a form over a year ago and now due a video consultation.

I've just done the PIP test on this website. Under Mobility Activities I scored zero however I can't see how this is accurate. I'm in my 30s and use a mobility scooter or walking stick some of the time. For example, I take my son to and from school 4 days a week (so 8 journeys a week, 0.3 miles each journey). On average 1-2 of these 8 journeys require either my mobility scooter or car. I could not walk all 8 journeys. However I do walk many of them. I can't see how I can describe my abilities accurately in order to score mobility points. But also can't see how I can be undeserving of any mobility points.

Also for planning and making journeys - I can do this if it's simple e.g. I am following a satnav in car. I struggle with a bus / train timetable and for a very complex journey or one somewhere completely unfamiliar I'd need support. How should I describe this?

Final question - does the video consultation go through the form using the same descriptors or is it a more general conversation?

It sounds as if you have not reviewed the criteria that you are being assessed against, so using the information from your post;

First, PIP only considers aids for walking in a very restricted fashion and those aids are not the primary focus of the Moving activity which is the distance that can be walked.

I'm afraid the distance you quote of around 0.3 of a mile (483m) is well in excess of the maximum distance that PIP looks at for walking (200m).

Normally I would also talk about completing the distance reliably but you say that you can complete this distance at least 75% of the time. This is not the only criteria for reliably, see our PIP Claim guide for more information, but given the distance you may struggle to show you meet the others.

Planning and Following a Journey considers the mental health problems that a claimant might have in doing these tasks, the criteria in general requires the claimant to suffer Overhwelming Psychological Distress which prevents them from completing the journey, can you show this?

No, the video assessment only loosely follows the 12 PIP activities, there's a ist of questions you are likely to be asked in the Claim Guide.

I'm sorry if my post seems harsh but your described issues are unlikely to score points, I'm not suggesting you change the facts but you should reconsider how you present them to be more in line with the Descriptors.
