Hi,I have filled in my pip2 online form, and said that I am waiting for an appointment with my consultant on 24th of March(strikes, etc allowing) to provide crucial evidence to upload.Last night I had a call from Capita who wanted to make an appointment for a phone assessment. He suggested 26th of March, but I said that would not give me enough time to receive the evidence from my consultant, and he said to post the evidence to them when it arrived.Surely if I provide evidence after the phone assessment it will not be considered in my claim ? Please can you advise, thanks.
Because you have flagged up the fact you are waiting, means it should be counted. I would write to the DWP, confirm what you were told, and say you will send in the consultant's letter. Many assessors don't read the paperwork until after an assessment. My issue would be that it can take a long time for paperwork to be added to the system, so you may have to ring a week after you have sent it to see that it arrived and that it has been scanned into the system. They can even tell you if someone has looked at it after it was scanned in.
You can always choose another date for your assessment; however, if you do, you will have to accept whatever date you are offered.
