Hi all new to the forum and new to this sight so hello to all.
My partner has anxiety and depression restless legs so he finds it hard to sit for long periods and high blood pressure which he worries and stresses about and he has to have a set routine otherwise he gets super stressed out and I have a idea he may have ocd but it’s been undiagnosed and hits some of the symptoms of autism which isn’t diagnosed either he also doesn’t leave the house unless it’s with me he has had esa for the last year but at the lowest rate so came to an end last month so had to apply for uc we got knocked back for the support group I now want him to get the prober support he needs but worried we will get knocked back from uc as his assessment is coming up and also been put off for getting him pip because he only got the lowest rate on esa so can anyone advise me what to do next and how likely will he get pip or the support group of uc thanks as I’m worried they will pressure him to go get a job which he is clearly not ready to do on his next assessment with all this going on plus he lost his mum whom he cared for a long time and hasn’t worked for about 20 years it’s a real financial struggle for us and really want to get him the support he needs thank you

Hi Bryanclare2347

Because your husband didn't get in the support group before, it doesn't mean he can't in the future, and it doesn't mean he shouldn't put in a claim for PIP. There are many people who successfully claim one or the other or both benefits. Success in one doesn't guarantee success in another, but nor would a person be prohibited from being awarded one benefit when they hadn't been awarded the other. PIP and UC/ESA are looking at different things.

If you haven't, I suggest you and your husband look through the PIP guide even before putting in a claim, so you can gather the needed evidence. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

If he has an assessment coming up, make sure that you have looked at the guide and see what type of questions he will be asked.
