PIP - Change of Circumstances & Reporting of

Hello,

I currently receive Daily Living at standard rate and Mobility at enhanced rate.

I would like some advice please on how to report a change of circumstance regarding my current situation, versus when i originally applied for PIP.

The new situation now is, that i need to go to a clinic twice a week every week, to have compression bandages applied to both my legs and for the clinicians to monitor and manage the Pressure Sores and Oedema. The Compression Bandages cannot be applied by myself as it is a specialist technique.

To get to the clinic, my other half needs to drive me there so that i can physically attend the clinic. I cannot use public transport as i am wheelchair bound.

Elapsed time for me getting there and having the bandages applied etc twice a week is approximately 3 hours in total for both sessions per week.

So i want to report this change of circumstance and i was going to select "Daily Living Activities / Activity = 3. Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition / Descriptor = 'Needs supervision, prompting or assistance to be able to manage therapy that takes no more than 3.5 hours a week".

So my question is, how do i go about actually informing the PIP agency of the above change of circumstance, such that they will review my claim and take this change of circumstance into consideration?

Hi Allan

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

To request a change of circumstances you need to contact DWP and ask, make a note of who you talk to and date and time, you will then be sent a new claims form, we also recommend that you follow up the phone call by putting your request in writing.

Quite often when someone has a change in their condition does not necessary mean that they will be awarded extra points. I would advise you to use our PIP self-tester to give you an indication benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independe...nt-pip/pip-self-test, I would also advise you to check out our guides; benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

Allan

Have you been affected by this change for three months and is it likely to continue for at least another nine?

If not then the DWP may decide this is not actually a Change that can change your award.

Hi Gordon,

This has been going on for at least the last two years and is unlikely to change.

I just thought about this and thought it best I make them aware...

Thanks.
