Hi Metrobot, glad you managed to pluck up the courage to make the next move.
It's is almost like a game of chess, things shouldn't be so difficult for disabled people to constantly try to prove things when the evidence is clearly there.

I know full well the short conversations, cobbled together phone appointments and the energy needed to start the process of is it worth phoning when you have a constant health matter on your mind or even a new one to add to your problems, it's totally exhausting, saps all your energy, and you wonder why you picked up the phone, right?!

Fingers crossed you get a good decision from the MR and you don't have to take your claim further.

Good luck

Hi metrobot, it's straightforward to get in touch with your Member of Parliament [MP]. Search "contact my MP UK" and there is a government enter-your-postcode page. Then click on the MP's name and it takes you to their contact details including email address.

There's a whole Guide on how to do your Appeal in the Benefits and Work Member's Guide to PIP. To find it, scroll down and down the PIP Guide page past the 'Webinars' heading. It has a contents page so you can skip to the bits you want. You might find it helpful to either read it with a notebook handy to note down bits you particularly need to follow. Or if you have a printer, to print off key pages and use a highlighter or post it notes to help you pick bits out.
Power to your elbow for being determined not to let the b****s grind you down and thinking of others.

And for now here's another e-hug and a whole box of e-cream cakes.
Ongoing good wishes,
Denby

Hi greekqueen

Please read my previous comment for clarification about the MR result. Apalling, but expected nonetheless.

You are truly correct and I'm afraid my already difficult condition has worsened and is worsening everyday and I probably have issues I don't even know what they're called yet as things start hurting and swelling randomly. Blamed it on the overwhelming stress so far.

Furthermore, many so called health assessors and "medicallly trained personnel" employed and given fancy work titles by bogus companies wonder why I never asked for help and was never diagnosed if I had issues all my life and how I managed to live so far without asking for help. Well, I never expected to last this long in the first place and secondly, I pushed myself over every limit just to stay away from their help, until my brain and body literally gave up on me and I couldn't anymore. Explaining that to a human being is easy and makes sense to all parties but to government officials and gov.umbrella companies it makes no sense whatsoever. It's unexplainable that some people do their absolute best to push themselves past any humanly limits to avoid admitting that they have any issue and try to integrate and act as normal as all others. I'm guilty as charged. But when actually needing help because I'm unable to deal with them anymore, then I look like a liar and an idiot in their eyes and do their best to put me and others down as quickly as possible. They call this help. You have no idea how much I wish to get better and become able to never bother them again. But right now, it feels like a personal war is on the way and I have no choice but to fight it.

Please help me with the next steps as I'm still in the dark and desperately panicking,

Kind regards
Metrobot

Hi Metrobot

Until you hear back about the result of your Mandatory Reconsideration, there isn't anything we can say to be of help at this stage. If you don't hear back in the time frame you have been given, then I'm afraid you will have to go through trying to ring the DWP again to find out where it is. I know it's awful to try and get through, but it's that or sit and wait to hear from them. Unfortunately, neither option is pleasant.

Hi BIS

I am confused as to where or how my message got lost but I have already said in two previous comments that I received my result from the Mandatory Reconsideration at the end of last week and the letter said that I will not be awarded anything more than I already have, which is only the standard living component.

I would not have asked for the next steps had I not already received my MR result back. I found that to be common sense. So, please accept my apologies for not writing it more clearly, previously.

The next stage if for you to consider an appeal.

First you need to review your current award, how many points did you score and can you see where you would score the extra points needed for an Enhanced Daily Living award and or a Mobility award.

If you can't see where the points would reasonably come from then there is no point in your appealing. Be quite critical of the opportunities you see for points the appeal certainly will.

If you decide to go ahead then there are guides in the PIP section that cover appealing and presenting your arguments.
