If you are on Dla not pip will the changes this week affect you? was created by silverstar
Just that really. It’s all very confusing at the moment as I’ve heard that the DLA migration to PIP has been suspended till 2028 and PIP is the passport to disability benefits. So if I am able to stay on DLA till the, should I be ok?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The delay has been raised on the forum but I am unable to find any definitive source to confirm it.
DLA and PIP and not directly affected by the changes announced, assuming that they even happen, it is only if you are receiving UC and presumably ESA that there will be an effect.

It has to be the longest period of time that a group of people are waiting for their benefits to be transferred? Why the people on indefinite awards of dla were not just transferred to the relevant pip seems illogical, but when were any government logical! Considering that not all people on dla will be sucessful at claiming pip, it seems cruel to keep people in limbo waiting for the dreaded now white envelope to drop through the letterbox. maybe some of us could bother our mp's? The daily record newspaper had an article last november that the transfers were halted in 2020, due to covid and people on dla were now randomly chosen to claim pip.The increase in pip claims had put the dla to pip at the back of the queue.I cannot find any info that the transfer will be in 2028.People can choose to be transfered to pip,but that raises the possibility of losing their benefits, who would do that?
