I have sent off my PIP application form. What I would like to know is when DWP get back to me regarding an assessment do I have a choice of having either a face to face or phone assessment?
The reason I ask is because of my anxiety and chronic pain problems I would prefer to have a phone assessment. But I do not know if I will be given that choice or not

Even now very few assessments are being done face to face.
You can request a phone assessment but you cannot require one.

Thank you for your reply Gordon. So do I wait until they contact me for my assessment and if they state that it will be face to face. I then contact them to request a phone assessment instead?

Yes, you can wait until they contact you. As Gordon says, very few face-to-face assessments are being carried out. A couple of members who were given face-to-face recently - then asked for a change, and the change was granted. However, it's not a given that the assessment type will be changed.
