New benefit rules again was created by c.lloyd@btintern
I am in receipt of ESA support Group and PIP care enhanced , mobility standard. Indefinite awards I believe. I am brain damaged but look and sound OK. Very much a hidden condition. As a result of my many problems receive 22.15 hours home care a week provided by the local authority. Would I be expected to have to consider work and be seen by a work coach who knows nothing about brain injury. Very worrying.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi c.lloyd, have you been asked to see a work coach.
If you have it may be to do with changes in the area for Universal credit. Or new government proposals trying to get disabled people into work again?

sorry I didn't make myself clear. I am not on UC yet . I am on legacy benefits. i was asking the question because of the budget, I don't expected to be called to see a work coach until about 2029 and I will still have a carer then because I am unlikely to get better. My acquired brain injury is for life. CL

Hi c.lloyd
We can't answer your question. None of us knows what is going to happen, and there is a chance there will be a change of government before then, and whatever has been stated now can change again.

it doesn't bear thinking about. I cannot afford to lose my carer. I depend on her totally. Surely there are others in this position. It makes nonsense of social services and social workers arranging care if we are all then going to be sent off to work. Perhaps I could take my carer with me??
