hi guys , we have a date for our appeal, some 4 months after, just wanted to get any advice on the format, etc, and any words that may help our case in front of a judge , is it going to be head to head , ? with DWP> ? i really hope not,
Tribunals are not adversarial as in a criminal case, the Tribunal panel will ask you questions about your conditions and limitations.
The panel will consist of a Judge, a doctor and a lay person with experience of disability issues, expect all three to ask you about your problems.
Towards the end of hearing, the Judge will ask both parties, you and the DWP (if present) if there are any points they would like to make, this would be your opportunity to bring to their attention anything you think they have missed.
The only specific think I say is that you need to address the Judge as "Your Honour" throughout the hearing. Apart from this make a list of bullet points for the items you think are important and use this to decide what else you want to say.
