Apologies if this is obvious...

I'm filling in the PIP form and I'm not sure whether to put something down as medication or therapy. I'm not sure what the DWP definition of therapy would be.

I have to inject a disease modifying therapy three times per week with which I need assistance. www.mssociety.org.uk/about-ms/treatments...s/glatiramer-acetate

I do need supervision/assistance from my partner with an exercise programme devised by a neurophysio which is obviously therapy.

Hi somegirl

Don't apologise for asking a question. None of us know what we don't know and DWP questions are often confusing. I would put in in the medication and I would also include a page of information off the website that you linked to - because whoever looks at the form probably won't know what it is - if you don't put in an explanation.

Therapy and medication are legally defined as follows;

“Manage medication” means take medication, where a failure to do so is likely to result in a deterioration in your health.

“Manage therapy” means undertake therapy, where a failure to do so is likely to result in a deterioration in your health.

“Medication” means medication to be taken at home which is prescribed or recommended by a registered –

(a) doctor; (b) nurse; or (c) pharmacist.

“Therapy” means therapy to be undertaken at home which is prescribed or recommended by a—

(a) registered – (i) doctor; (ii) nurse; or (iii) pharmacist; or

(b) health professional regulated by the Health Professions Council,

but does not include taking or applying, or otherwise receiving or administering, medication (whether orally, topically or by any other means), or any action which falls within the definition of “monitor a health condition”.

Thank you. I was getting myself in such a state I bypassed the information in the PIP guide.

Many thanks
