Possibility of PIP reassessment was created by Peawack
My sister was disappointed to be given standard rate PIP award. Her health has since deteriorated.
Is there a way to reapply for PIP while she continues with the existing award as her case for the enhanced rate is much stronger now?

Hi Peawack

Your sister can't reapply for PIP when she has an existing award in place. She needs to contact the DWP and request a 'Change of Circumstances'. This will trigger a review and she will be sent a PIP2 form to complete. She can then include the new information. Make sure that you have looked through the criteria to make sure that she will fulfil the criteria for an enhanced award. It's not always a given that a deterioration in someone's condition actually leads to an improved award. I'm not trying to be disheartening - just make sure that you have been through the criteria and the evidence she has in place, so she knows exactly what she needs to show. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
