Planning a journey PIP was created by Ishbel
My son 31 has PTSD, dyslexia, anxiety, depression , dyscalculia, dysgraphia and elements of autistic spectrum disorder behaviour. Has anger management issues and is very intolerant of the public.
He had previously been awarded enhanced mobility and recently has had no award for mobility. He has enhanced care.
The assessor appeared inexperienced and did not ask him about planning a journey and stated in her report that there were no intellectual issues …..0 points
My question is .
I’m going to ask for a MR but how do we evidence his issue with planning , anxiety , memory problems etc . I had included excerpts from his psychologist assessment?
Any ideas would be welcome.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Ishbel
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
The Going Out Activity does not consider any physical limitations that your son might have even if these prevent him following a journey or from leaving his home.
The Going Out activity does look at the following three things.
Planning a route - this is primarily a cognitive or sensory (e.g. blindness) activity. He is being asked about the problems he would have with working out how to get from one place to another, he does not need to be able to follow the route that he is planning.
Undertaking a Journey - this is to do with mental health issues such as agoraphobia and social anxiety and is concerned with your son leaving the house to go somewhere, they will be interested in the things that stops him doing this. You need to show that he would suffer "overwhelming psychological distress" to meet the criteria.
Following a route - This activity about the problems he would have navigating a route. So are there any problems; cognitive, sensory or mental health issues that would prevent him from doing this? This is different from undertaking a journey, in fact, if he cannot undertake a journey then he will not score points for following one and vice versa.
