PIP Capita assessment was created by Sugarfoot
Hello, I had my pip review on 14/2/23 which was recorded. The assessment lasted for 1.5 hrs and I went into a lot of detail which was quite gruelling.
A month later I was contacted by Capita who told me that I’d have to have another telephone assessment as there was not enough evidence. They wouldn’t go into detail as to what evidence was needed. Welfare Rights got involved and still couldn’t get any further as to why this might have happened. A friend phoned today to re-arrange the asssessment and was told that it was now going to be done on papers only. We had to give a reason why we now wanted a verbal assessment- reason being that how can they just get enough information from papers when they can’t from papers and assessment????
Should I agree just to go down the papers only route, my form was pretty detailed and so was the verbal assessment. I don’t know what to do for the best.
TIA

Hi Suagarfoot
I'm sorry, but I can't advise you what to do here. I remember you saying in a previous post that this had happened, and they'd told you, you needed to have another assessment. My question was, why? As Welfare Rights have been unable to find out why, there's a good chance there was an error on their part. It comes down to you. Do you want another assessment, or would you rather they make a paper decision? The decision comes down to what feels best for you. Unfortunately, I think it's one of those decisions where you'll keep wondering whether you've made the right choice. It's horrible, and I wish I could tell you, but I can't.
