PIP journey txt messages. was created by Sammianne
DWP PIP have always abided by due to working memory problems and losing track of important stuff, that their contact has always been by post and or phone.
Hence why I received extended dates for PIP review via post, and why I did not receive a txt to say they had received my review form back when it arrived (which it did, signed for delivered last September).
Nor have I ever received any update texts such as the ones people get where their review still hasn't been looked at.
Around 10 days ago however I got the standard txt msg from IAS saying for info only they were now managing my assesment and would be in touch if needed an appointment and no need to contact.

What I am trying to work out though is was that a one off txt that slipped through (also reiterated on my review form contact wise please can it be writing or phone) advising me it was with them?

I was trying to work out timewise for instance as now 10 days, why they would not have dealt with it yet either paper review wise or have sent me an appointment, or whether they will have sent out an appointment or dealt with it on paper and sent it back to DWP.

Do they always send a txt message for every part of the journey, or only some.

I apologise how mad that question sounds, but as it's the only thing going round and round in my head at the moment. Cant function with the worry of it, incase they have sent an appointment and it hasn't been delivered.

It was concerning was the wait for the review due to backlog, I could just a out cope with that, but the txt 10 days ago that IAS has it and nothing since is what has done for me.

Please when answering feel free to edit/abridge my question before publishing in the forum.

Thank you.

Hi Sammianne

Your post is perfect, no need for any editing.

DWP are a law unto themselves and there is no correct answer to your question.

Quite often we receive similar posts to yours, if you have sent in your mobile number then quite often claimants will receive a text message, but not always.

As you have stated in your post there is a massive backlog with PIP claims through the various stages of the claims.

If you are worried about your claim, contact DWP first thing in the morning and ask where in the system you are?

Let us know how you get on.

Gary
