just had my review and received pa4 and decision letter. gave me the same standard daily living as 2017 although scans etc showed deterioration. have done my MR now as it was causing me a lot of anxiety but just wanted to give an idea to other people in this situation as to the sort of things the HP may come up with. some phrases were cut and pasted frequent times through the PA4, eg 'she reports fall, this is inconsistent with the HOC showing osteoarthritis with no falls team input reported'
she can preform light household duties suggesting adequate exercise tolerance, medication efficacy of moderate dose pin relief prescribed'
'good efficacy of specialist input'
'able to reach up to wash her hair unaided'
she can drive an automatic car with no restrictions'
and the decision letter
'when considering the symptoms of pain it is reasonable to suggest a restriction and the evidence shows that when using an aid it alleviates some of the pain and discomfort experienced'
'you are able to drive which requires significant physical function in terms of grip, power and upper and lower joint movements'
'your ability to drive would indicate adequate cognition and concentration'
in short, i have addition back issues not just the arthritis she mentions,i am in contact with a spine consultant once a year, cant drive more than 15 minutes due to compression of the spine, comparing daily life with car use is completely different, although on went to a and e once i have fall many times, so she was basically telling me im a liar!, but of course have no 'proof', when i said i 'struggle' to wash my hair this was considered successful.
any useful responses to these statements would , im sure be useful to future people and myself..next time round

Hi Steph
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
For claimants who drive, this does quite often cause issues when applying for PIP, one of our MODs (LL26) did a very good post on PIP and Driving, which I have pinned to the start of the posts; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/kunena/10-dla-...8543-pip-and-driving
