I wrote to pip back in january asking them to look again at a descriptor in my sons claim,he was awarded back in 2019 but i was made aware of the supreme court ruling of 2020 and i decided to make contact with them.
they refused it anyway and their reason was that my son told his physio that he plays in a band and that he went to college,i then decided im not fit for an appeal so i just wrote to them highlighting those 2 points they mentioned,i explained that my son played guitar in his friends grandads garage with his only 2 friends and that this was with a guitar that someone gave him to help improve his mental health,i also explained that me and our family struggle to keep his mental heath well as he wont see professionals.
i explained that my son should not be penalised for playing a bit of music to try to help his mind and that we as his family seek out advice from mental health charities in order to best educate ourselves so we can help him.
i said that he needed a lot of social support before and after every engagement.

today i recieved a letter saying We now have the information we need in order to decide if we can award you pip

im so confused and upset does this mean they are taking away his current award?
have i made a mistake by asking them to ,look at this again?
ive not had a review form or anything like that so what information are they likely to have availed of?
or would they perhaps just read my letter plus my original letter from january and look at the descriptor again?

this letter has really unsettled me i regret asking them to look at it at all now i would be happy if they just left it as it is

any advice please

my sons claim runs to 2025 i hope we can still keep that

thanks for reading

Hi D Dee321

I replied to your other post here. benefitsandwork.co.uk/kunena/10-dla-esa-...dress-before-i-could

I'm sorry - the answer remains the same. The only way you will know what is going on is to speak to the DWP.
