Hi My sister got an extension via MP for PIP review so she would have time for GP to write a letter. The GP said she would dictate it a week ago (it's all been paid for) but today the surgery say there's nothing and the GP is on leave until Monday. But she needs to be sending it off next Mondsy to make the deadline. It usually takes a few days for letters to get sent and signed and posted out. Can my sister get another extension? She's written to our MP again but he's not got back. She's due to get her pension in a few weeks and she's had cancer, and suffers with severe anxiety and autism among other things. She's terrified of thek cutting her off.
We know that she can send the form back and say doctor's letter to follow but we don't trust them not to lose it. We k is the DWP are notorious for losing important information and evidence.
I can't answer your question. The DWP only used to give one extension, but quite a lot of people have reported being given a second and, in some cases, even a third extension. So the only thing you can do is ask and ask now. If they agree, make sure that you send a letter straight afterwards confirming the extension, so at least there is a letter that will be added to her records in case something has gone wrong. If they refuse - just make sure you get the form back and say that the GPs letter is to follow.
