Pip Review + bathroom adaption was created by Chezza46
Hi,

i am in the process of filling out my pip review form, i had a spine operation unfortunately the outcome was not successful, also have copd overlap asthma. cutting a very long story short, the occupational therapist has been into our home and they have given me aids to use, such as raised toilet, additional banister for the stairs, and grab rails. We are in the early process of getting a grant for adaption to the bathroom to change to a wet room.

On my pip review do i advised them of the bathroom adaption due to it being in the early stages and up to this point we are not sure we will get the grant

Many thanks Cheryl

Yes, you should mention it but you need to turn your reasoning around, assuming the following is correct.

So you should say that the wet room is being installed because you cannot use a standard shower or bath and why you cannot, it will help if this was recommended by an Occupational Therapist as part of a review of your problems.

Thank you, for the great information. yes the occupational therapist did recommend this to be done. but with us not being advised if the grant has been approved or not, was not sure if to put it down. as the OC states there is a long waiting list.

Hi Chezza46

You can put it down in the manner that Gordon has suggested and still say that it's something you need but you don't know whether it will happen. The point is, that it's proof you currently can't use the facilities you have.
