PIP review letter was created by Emanie
Hi,
No doubt this has been answered elsewhere but I have 2 questions I would like help with please.
I received my review letter last week on Monday the 3rd, with a deadline of the 20th. I thought they gave us at least 28 days to complete the forms, plus it was long bank holiday last weekend - should I try to ring and to ask for an extension?
The other question is that my award runs until November this year, yet the review form cover letter states I will loose my PIP award if I don’t reply in time and my award will be stopped. Does this happen a lot?
It is my first review, so I’m not sure if they are playing by the rules or not. I’ve been a member here for a long time and some of the information I’ve read makes me feel the DWP are trying to pull as fast one.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi M Vincent
Most people's forms don't arrive in time for them to have four weeks to fill them in. Just ring the DWP and ask for an extension and you will be granted one. Just don't leave it until the last minute. If you find that still isn't enough time, make sure you ring in plenty of time for a further extension. The second extension isn't a given, so the advice remains the same - don't leave it until the last minute if you find yourself struggling. People have had their awards stopped for not having returned their forms within the deadline. How many people it happens to - I don't know - but certainly there have been members here that it has happened to, and there are quite often stories in the press about it.
