Antbody else had this happen? was created by traceytracey
Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody else had this happen and what the outcome was?
I sent my daughters PIP review form off February 2022. My daughter suffers epilepsy without warning, incontinence, anxiety. Last time she was awarded Standard rate care and full mobility.
The doctor recently wrote a letter to DWP requesting that she should have a paper based review as she was suffering more seizures due to stress and lack of sleep.
Daughter recieved a text saying her telephone review would be 25th April. This is the one day that I can't be here to support her.
I phoned IAS asking if they had recieved the doctors letter, they had recieved it but clearly not read it. ( I know they have a lot to trawl through). I was told that the reason my daughter needed a telephone review was because they didnt have enough evidence, I asked what was missing. I was told that there was nothing down to suggest she saw anybody regarding her epilepsy. all of the information they needed was clearly there and she saw it when I pointed out that there was an extra sheet with all contact names and numbers, along with pages of letters from her epilepsy nurse and consultant neurologist. I had written on the form " additional information see page of bundle". It also transpired that her appointment was made before the doctors letter was received, so it is always worth phoneing them to confirm they have recieved it. I phoned them at 3.10pm yesterday.
They answered on the 2nd ring so was very surprised
I also pointed out to her that the DWP state on their review form NOT to send in any information they may have, so I suggested that they should have her origional paperwork with all of the information on along with her new stuff. She stumbled on this information, which gave me the impression that they don't look at it. So I confirm, as they always state on here. Traeat a review the same as a new claim.
At 4.41 I recieved a call from IAS saying that if they had my daughters permission they would talk to me. he kindly phoned her, got permission and called me straight back. He asked a few questions. Ten minutes later it was over and he said he will send back to th DWP for a decision yesterday.
My worry/concern is. How can he have looked at her evidence etc in such a small window of time, has this happened to anybody else? if yes what was the outcome?.
I will phone DWP in a few days to request a PA3, is that what it is called?
Any comments or info would be much appreciated.

Hi All,
Just thought I would update you on daughters PIP claim, Thankfully the assessor was a kind one and put through his report based on her last claim. and a 10 minute conversation with me.
So she has kept her lower care and higher mobility, which she is more than happy with. We could push for higher daily living but no point in rocking the boat so to speak. The good thing is that they have extended her claim for 6 years, which is fantastic news.
They actually took on board that she has had epilepsy for 20 years and that it is still not controlled, which is a great weight off my mind and hers
So thank you all for your advice over the past years and your fantastic guides
Regards
