Hi can anyone help pls?
I'm in the esa support group and receive pip (standard adl and higher mobility). No other help (housing ect)

My partner was diagnosed with cancer in Dec.
And his work will pay him full pay for 6m,then it goes to half pay.

He is reluctant to claim pip as he says he doesn't meet any criteria.

Can anyone help with what we could claim when he goes to half pay...we are so confused!
Thank you.

PIP is awarded for the limitations that result from a condition, not the conditions themselves so don't assume he would not qualify, have a look at our PIP Claim guide by following the Guides link at the top of the page.

Providing your husband's GP has issued a Fit Note and he finished receiving SSP then he can make an immediate claim for New Style ESA, he may even automatically qualify if he is receiving chemo or radiotherapy.

A cancer diagnosis can have an immediate effect in your MH, & treatment can be quite brutal.
