Occupational therapist was created by KazzaD
Hello people, I’m a new subscriber and I hope you can help!! An Occupational Therapist called me yesterday (Friday) and asked to meet on Monday at my home!! I suffer with Multiple Sclerosis and get flustered and confused quickly. I’m also getting physio for other things at hospital etc, and took it for granted that it was to do with that! Apparently it’s nothing to do with a doctor or specialist’s referral. Can ESA support or PIP randomly send a OT to your home? Shouldn’t I have received a letter or something?? I’m so worried
Thank you in advance..

Hi KazzaD

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry that we didn't see your post before now, but we don't usually answer questions over the weekend. It's hard for me to answer now because, from what you said, you were expecting someone to call at your house today. I am appalled that you don't appear to know who this person is, what organisation they were from and their purpose for coming to your home. I would have advised you to ring the DWP and find out what was going on - and remind them that you need to be given 7 days' notice for any appointment unless you yourself agree to a shorter time period. I hope that whatever happened, it went well for you. I hope you will come back and let us know. You might want to think about putting in a complaint about the stress this has caused you.
