Pip renewal was created by Melodyjane
Hi
I’m just looking at my pip renewal form (first one) and it says not to send evidence previously sent but the guide on this site says send as much evidence as possible? Any ideas which is best? I’ve received it today and only have 2 weeks to send it back so am extremely anxious. Sorry if this has been asked before I did try searching the forum.

Hi Melodyjane

I had a look at the guide to check what it says, and from page 128 of the guide, it suggests that you should send in as much 'new supporting information as possible'. - so you don't have to send in copies of evidence that you sent in with your original form. Having said that, there are plenty of people who don't trust the DWP and they do send old evidence again. At the end of the day, people have to do what sits right for them. Personally, I would try and gather any new evidence that applies since the last form was sent in.

Melodyjane, IMHO do not take any notice whatsoever, not a scrap, of the "not to send evidence previously sent". They cannot penalise you for sending in whatever in your opinion is evidence, B&W are right, send the lot.
If you restrict yourself to new/up-to-date evidence there is a considerable chance that your evidence from the original claim may be ignored by not being referred back to. The risk of that is that they, um, er, 'fail to consider' how long you have had the difficulties you have now, and so pretend that you will soon miraculously recover. This increases the chance of you getting downgraded and having to battle through an MR and likely Appeal before you get/regain your actually just desserts.
IMHO as I say, but I think I'd put in at least key previous evidence as to start dates of ongoing problems. Better too much than too little so don't waste time fretting over what to include.
And remember to phone and ask for an extension before getting to the last minute. If you then don't need it after all, well fine.
