PIP success - thank you was created by Mason
Hello all (and especially moderators),
I recieved my PIP review award letter last week and was astonished/relieved to find that not only were they continuing my PIP but that they had increased my award to enhanced daily living and now awarded me enhanced mobility. I still keep looking at the letter in case I have misunderstood it and won't completely believe it until the first payment has gone in! They have also awarded me some backdated as it took 19 months from me subitting my review forms to the assessment and decision, and the decision maker extended the award so it will run until March 2027. To be fair to the DWP everyone I dealt with treated me with respect, even when I had to phone because the first telephone assessment was cancelled at the last minute and no one had told me. This is quite different to my experiences when I applied first time.
Thank you so much to everyone here - the guides really helped me understand how to best communicate the difficulties I have and help the assessor understand my situation as someone with a long term, fluctuating condition.

Hi Mason
Many, many congratulations on your improved award. That is good news. And it's great to hear that the people you dealt with treated you with respect and you had a much better experience. Be aware that your next review form can arrive any time from March 2026 as they are sent out up to 12 months before the award end date.
Glad to hear that you found the guides so useful. You obviously nailed it in describing a fluctuating condition which is never easy.

Hi Mason,
Well done!
Sometimes DWP do get it right, and it is good to know this!
