Hello, after what seems like an eternity, I had my tribunal today for my child's DLA and I'm so thankful I won. I already receive DLA for him but it wasn't a fair amount for his needs which they've seen fit to now give him. Can I ask will payments be back dated? And if so at what point will it be back dated to? If it helps my son had his initial assesment at age 3, and then when 5 they sent out forms asking for more information at which his award changed and I then asked for a mandatory reconsideration after that. So is it back dated to the forms I filled in at 5? Or from the mandatory reconsideration? Thankyou!
That really is terrific news, congratulations and well done.
Wew cannot tell you when your appeal will be backdated to, it will tell you on the decision letter, as you won a higher award the backdate will be the difference between what has been awarded and what you already receive.
